Talk Title: "Seam Carving: Magic to Steal Pixels Away Secretly" Talk Abstract: Most image resizing approaches consider only geometric constraints in between the source and the target images, which "honestly" preserves the information of all the original pixels but introduces content distortion when we try to change the aspect ratio. By using also the content information, Seam Carving (proposed in 2007) secretly steals/adds pixels in either a vertical/horizontal "seam", which marks a connected path of "unimportant" pixels. This approach modifies the original content of the image but gives satisfactory results by tricking our eyes. Preferred Category for Your Talk: Graduate Student Technical
